ANTHONY, Michael

Michael Anthony is a noted Trinidadian author and journalist. Born in Mayaro on 10 February 1932, he was educated in his native island before spending 14 years in London, England, where he worked at Reuters.  He returned to Trinidad in 1970 to join the staff of the Ministry of Culture.  Anthony has written a number of short stories, but much better known are his novels, which include The Games Were Coming (1963); The Year in San Fernando (1965); Green Days by the River (1967); Streets of Conflict (1976); Bright Road to El Dorado (1981) and A Better and Brighter Day (1987).
